Looking For More Uses For Avocados?

Updated: May 11, 2021

Here Are A Few DIY Ideas

From soups to salsas to Toasty’s avocado toast, to just enjoying it plain, avocados are a well-loved, yummy ingredient in many meals--which is why we offer avocado smoothies, salads, and of course, toast. But did you know that there are so many more uses for avocados than you might think? If you’re looking for things to do with avocados, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s a few more ways you can easily incorporate avocados into your life.

Hydrating Avocado Face Mask

Besides eating Toasty’s scrumptious and delectable avocado toast, including avocado in your self-care routine is the next best thing you can do. A quick run-down on the avocado benefits for skin is that the natural oils and healthy fats in avocados penetrate your skin so well, that it nourishes, softens, and hydrates like no other! Antioxidants like vitamins C and E in avocados can help you achieve healthy and glowing skin. Try this avocado face mask, provided by Beautiful Eats & Things!

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • ⅓ cup of plain yogurt

  • 2 teaspoons of honey

  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

  • Optional: 2 tablespoons of rolled oats / a ripe banana

  • Add all ingredients into a blender, and blend until smooth

  • Make sure your face is cleansed and dry, then apply the mask liberally to your face and neck

  • Let the mask sit for 20 minutes

  • Wash the mask off and follow-up with your regular skincare routine

Avocado Hand Cream

Did we mention avocados are also amazing ingredients in hand cream? If you aren’t using a hand cream, you should start now. Our hands spend just as much time exposed to the elements (UV rays, etc.) as our faces. Don’t leave them defenseless! Follow these steps to create a homemade revitalizing hand treatment.

What You’ll Need:

  • ¼ fully ripened avocado, halved, pitted, and peeled

  • 1 egg white

  • 2 tablespoons of rolled oats

  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

  • Add the egg white, oats, and lemon juice

  • Stir mixture until combined

  • Massage into hands

  • Leave mixture on for 20 minutes

  • Rinse with warm water to reveal smooth, moisturized skin!

*Have some extra hand cream? Pack it in a small, airtight container and store it in the refrigerator, and you can preserve it for several days!

The vitamins B and E in avocados work at a cellular level to protect and strengthen hair. Avocados lock moisture into hair cells and boost hair roots, shafts, and strands! It’s never been easier to keep your hair game on point. Re-create this all-natural, four-ingredient avocado hair smoothie, featured on Poosh!
